Our School
Message from the Principal
It’s a great day to be a Titan! From the first time I stepped on this campus, I knew it was unique and had a special feel. When I brag on Lakeshore, which is often and easy to do, I always say that our students are polite, respectful, hard workers, and accepting. The staff models this behavior and helps carry out our mission, which is to prepare the students to be successful once they leave the safety net of 1 Titan Trace.
The last two years have been incredibly challenging, to say the least, but not only did we survive the challenging times, we thrived. The teachers and students exceeded our expectations and increased our projected School Performance score for the first time in several years, increased the school’s ACT Composite score by 1.3 points, increased our LEAP 2025 scores in US History, English II, and Algebra I, and continued to perform higher than the district average on ACT and LEAP 2025 in US History, Geometry, English I, and English II. This is a testament to the hard work the teachers put in weekly during Professional Learning Communities to plan lessons, analyze data, and implement best teaching pedagogy practices. Not only are PLCs benefiting students, but so are the numerous supports we have in place: School Counselors, Mental Health Providers, Instructional Coaches, the Instructional Leadership Team, Positive Behavior Interventions and Support, our Graduation Coach, Freshman Academy, Behavior Team, LEAP Remediation, School Building Level Committee, and Titan Advisory Period. With the aforementioned supports in place at LHS and knowing we have your support from home, student success will only continue to increase.
Academics is not the only thing to celebrate. Titan athletics has some new faces on campus and I am extremely impressed with the level of commitment by both coaches and student athletes. Their dedication and drive to win is evident in the countless hours spent practicing, studying their skills, and making adjustments. The expectations of the coaches is to produce respectful, competitive, hard-working leaders both on and off the field. This is exactly what we are witnessing!
I look forward to another year of performances, competitions, meetings, and shows by our student artists, musicians, actors, livestock showmen, and club and organization members. The talent, work ethic and enthusiasm of these students is second to none. Please stay tuned for information on upcoming shows, performances, and competitions. Our students would love your support.
Our challenge for students and staff is to “Win the Day.” Every day you can either get better or worse; the choice is yours. Thank you for your support of Lakeshore and, as always, Win the Day!
Alma Mater
Come and walk by my side
Through the doors of Lakeshore High
Altogether, friends old and new
Lakeshore we will honor you
With hope and gladness singing
"Alma Mater we love!"
We will never forget you
Dear Lakeshore High
About Our School
Lakeshore High School opened its doors in the Fall of 2009 to students in the Freshman and Sophomore grades with Mr. Brennan McCurley as its first principal. The student body population quickly grew, and May of 2012 witnessed the first graduating Senior class. Situated deep in the woods on the Northshore of Louisiana’s Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, Lakeshore High draws nearly one thousand students from the towns of Mandeville and Lacombe. These students, their families, and our faculty and staff proudly wear the Black and Silver of the Titans!
Since its opening, Lakeshore High has had the boast of being rated an A School by the Louisiana Department of Education every year. Our students have the opportunity to take a variety of course offerings with degree pathways ranging from the University Track to the Automotive Services, Emergency Medical Responder, and Prostart career and technical fields among others. Students have the ability to earn college credit before leaving high school through the many Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment classes offered in conjunction with local colleges and universities. Lakeshore High graduates leave high school equipped with an excellent education of knowledge, thinking, and skills necessary for success wherever their next path may lead.
We believe that there is something for everyone here at Lakeshore High where students participate in an assortment of extracurricular activities. Our Titan Athletic teams have won numerous district and state championships and have earned a reputation as one of the top programs in the state. Titan students are regularly named to Louisiana All-State teams for athletics, academics, and artistic talent. Performances by the Titan Band, Chorus, and Dance groups dot the calendar throughout the school year. Honors, service, special interest, and competition clubs and organizations such as National Honor Society, Key Club, FFA, and Youth and Government provide opportunities for every type of student to participate in the school community.
At Lakeshore High, we recognize the importance of community involvement towards the thriving of our students at school and beyond. Multiple parent organizations such as the PTSA and booster clubs give of their time and assets to insure that the school has the resources to provide better opportunities for all to learn and flourish.
Our goal here at Lakeshore is summed up well by the motto which emblazons our school crest: “Building Character, Shaping Lives”. We take that mission seriously and seek to live out those words daily in all we do. Because of that, it is always a great day to be a Titan! Win the Day!
