LSU Health Sciences Center Summer Biotechnology Camp

This camp is a great academic enhancement opportunity for your science students this summer. Dr. Paula Gregory, a research geneticist and the Assistant Dean of the LSU College of Medicine, has agreed to conduct a biotechnology summer camp that will introduce freshmen and sophomores to the exciting world of biotechnology and genetics research. The week-long camp will introduce students to the fundamentals of DNA extraction and the role it plays in genetics research. Daily sessions will be taught by actual researchers from LSU and Tulane who are eager to share their knowledge and expertise in this rapidly expanding field. This unique opportunity is the first of its kind on the Northshore and enrollment is limited to 28 students, so early registration is encouraged. The camp will be held the week of June 14 – 18, 2010 at Mandeville High School.
